When the hearing is reopened will depend on how quickly the project's applicant turns around a revised Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), Town Attorney Roland Baroni said at the meeting.
The Town Board voted at the meeting to accept feedback from consulting firms Kellard Sessions and BFJ Planning for the current FEIS iteration.
Supervisor Michael Schiliro explained at the meeting that the applicant has to make amendments based on the consultants' feedback. The same process will continue once a revised FEIS is submitted, Baroni explained at the meeting, adding it could mean the the FEIS is deemed to be complete or that additional changes may need to be made to it.
Earlier that week, the Town Board held a work session to hear from the development team for Brynwood. The team members gave a recap of the project, which calls for an overhaul of the club's existing golf course, construction of 80 condos and a rebuilt clubhouse. The development would be constructed in phases, it was explained, and the applicant is interested in joining a nearby water district that neighbors in the Windmill neighborhood are already on.
The condo units are intended to be for empty nesters.
The 80-unit iteration was first disclosed to the town last fall as part of a submission for the FEIS.
Brynwood's owners are seeking a change to the town code to modify the language pertaining to special permits so that the type of use they are proposing is allowed.
