NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- The Town of North Castle is fighting the state Office of Mental Health over a proposed residential treatment center in Armonk.
The town is expected to file an Article 78 against OMH, saying it failed to uphold the town's objections, according to The Examiner . Supervisor Michael Schiliro said the town will initiate its legal action by Friday, according to The Examiner .
The treatment center would be run by Paradigm in an eight-bedroom house at 14-16 Cole Drive for teenagers suffering from mental health issues like depression and anxiety.
Residents have strongly opposed the center, while the town has questioned whether there is a need for the center in Armonk. There are three facilities within 3.5 miles of the proposed center.
