Studies show drivers are now spending approximately 42 hours stuck in traffic every year. The increase of jobs, as well as the decrease in the price of gas can be attributed to the addition of more cars on the road, reported NBC News.

Washington D.C. topped the list, with its drivers spending up to 82 hours per year stuck in traffic; Los Angeles and San Francisco follow, along with the New York tri-state area and several other cities, reported NBC News.
