The sites, part of a program begun in 2014, will offer 1,200 free tax sessions this year, a 600 percent increase over two years ago, according to the governor's office.

The program is open to all New Yorkers making $62,000 or less. Volunteers with the state's Department of Taxation and Finance will guide those attending the free, 1-hour session through the process of electronically filing state and federal taxes.
