James Fahey the executive director of the Association of Commuter Rail Employees and the union’s executive board have agreed to ask its members to authorize a strike that will affect Hudson Valley commuters daily until the situation is resolved, according to lohud.com.
The union represents nearly 2,500 Metro-North engineers and conductors. A strike is expected to affect approximately 300,000 daily. There is no timeline for any possible strike.
