Metro-North Adds Trains In Advance Of Women's March

With increased ridership expected for Saturday’s Women’s March in Manhattan, Metro-North will be adding trains to accommodate marchers.

Metro-North will run four extra trains on Saturday, with two extra morning trains on the Hudson Line and New Haven Line. A Metro-North spokesperson said that the organization will “operate additional service int he afternoon on an as-needed basis.”

“Metro-North typically operates a robust Saturday schedule. On the New Haven Line, trains operate every half-hour between New Haven and Grand Central Terminal and between Stamford and Grand Central Terminal; on the Harlem Line, trains operate every half-hour between Southeast and Grand Central Terminal and between North White Plains and Grand Central Terminal; on the Hudson Line trains operate every half-hour between Croton-Harmon and Grand Central Terminal, with hourly trains between Poughkeepsie and Grand Central Terminal.”

The Women’s March returns on Saturday at hundreds of places throughout the country. In total, organizers are expecting nearly 700 marches and around five million attendees nationwide. Last year, more than 400,000 marchers attended in New York.

The additional trains on the Hudson Line will be adding:

  • 7:35 a.m. from Poughkeepsie, stopping at New Hamburg, Beacon, Peekskill, Cortlandt, Croton-Harmon, Harlem-125th Street, and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 9:33 a.m.
  • 8:35 a.m. from Poughkeepsie, stopping at New Hamburg, Beacon, Peekskill, Cortlandt, Croton-Harmon, Harlem-125th Street, and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 10:33 a.m.

New Haven Line:

  • 7:40 a.m. from New Haven, stopping at West Haven, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Stamford, Harlem-125 Street,  and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 9:22 a.m.
  • 8:40 a.m. from New Haven, making stops at West Haven, Bridgeport, Fairfield Metro, Fairfield, Westport, South Norwalk, Stamford, Harlem-125 Street, and arriving at Grand Central Terminal at 10:22 a.m.
