A 21-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after fatally stabbing a fellow motorist during a road rage incident on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester late Saturday night, state police said.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., state police responded to a reported stabbing on the Taconic in the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Upon arrival, 28-year-old Daniel Siino of Hartsdale was discovered in a vehicle with stab wounds, according to police. The investigation revealed that the victim had engaged in a road rage incident with Christian A. Walczyk, 21, of Pleasant Valley in Dutchess County, police said.

The incident turned physical and Walczyk stabbed Siino in the chest, according to police. Siino returned to his vehicle and his passenger began driving him to the hospital while contacting 911, police said. EMS and state troopers subsequently located and rendered aid to Siino who was transported to Westchester Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Walczyk, who had also left the scene and called 911 was located nearby and taken into custody without incident, police said. Walczyk was charged with one count of manslaughter in the first degree, a Class B felony, arraigned in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail without bail.

The State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Town of Mount Pleasant Police Department, the Village of Briarcliff Manor Police Department and the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office.

Any witnesses to the incident are encouraged to contact the State Police at (914) 769-2600. All calls will remain confidential.
