Language Barriers Fall By Wayside

Imagine being at a dinner party with people speaking a half dozen dialects and you can understand them all perfectly—in your native tongue, in your own ear. The future is coming and it will speak your language, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Advancements in today’s translation tools make pocket language dictionaries practically obsolete due to bioacoustic engineering innovations making translation earpieces a near-future reality and similar technologies advancing everyday, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Languages will soon come across re-created to you in the voice of the speaker, and your response will be received in their language via earpiece, watch or another personal device available as soon as 2025, reports the Wall Street Journal.

These new technologies are also expected to improve the lives of millions impaired by hearing and speech disabilities, even for those deaf or mute, according to the Wall Street Journal.
