The new e-waste initiative is the final installment of a law that was signed in 2010 in an effort to prevent heavy metals acids, and other potentially dangerous chemicals from seeping into soil and drinking water, the Albany Business Review said.
Violators who are caught attempting to throw out items like video game consoles, televisions, laptops and more can be fined up to $100 for each infraction, the Albany Business Review said.
