The planned maintenance shutdown is to replace two water meals that sit between the lid of the reactor and the reactor vessel, Entergy, which runs Indian Point, said.
Operators have been monitoring slight water leakage past the seals during the last few weeks and are replacing the seals out of an abundance of caution, Entergy said.
There is no threat of release of radiation to the environment and no threat to the public, Entergy said.
