ARMONK, N.Y. - Lori Ceisler said her three kids think she and her husband Billy are the "coolest parents in the whole world" after opening North Main Street's Hall of Scoops, a nostalgic ice cream, candy and guilty pleasure shop that opened this week.
"This is every kid's dream," Ceisler said. "People feel at home when they come here."
Hall of Scoops is one part of a four-part entity that the store features, including Hall of Sweets, Hall of Swirls and Hall of Sports. The sports aspect of the store is still to come.
"We opened a bit early," Ceisler said of the store, which opened its doors officially on Wednesday morning. "We wanted to open as early as possible but there's still a lot to come."
The store will soon feature plasma television screens, sports memorabilia, tables and chairs, Ceisler said.
Amanda Foto is a junior at Byram Hills High School and is one of the locals working at the shop. She works five days a week during the summer.
"It's so awesome to work here," Foto said. "I'm like a kid in a candy store."
Ceisler said Hall of Scoops was all about supporting the community and promoting local students.
"We have the best kids in Armonk working here," she said.
Hall of Scoops has a wall lined with assorted candy items that customers can bag in bulk for $10.99 per pound and also has ice cream and self-serve yogurt with a buffet style bar of condiments.
"People want modern," Ceisler said. "Customers tell me that they breathe a sigh of relief when they come here and say, 'Thank goodness we have this place.'"
