As a result of the project, Lake Avenue will be closed to traffic at the construction site until Monday, Aug. 25, according to a statement from the town. The bridge is located on Lake Avenue north of Wooddale Road.

Motorists wanting to travel north on Lake Avenue can instead use Grahampton Lane east to Clapboard Ridge Road northwest to Lake Avenue.

Drivers wanting to travel south can use Clapboard Ridge Road east to Grahampton Road west to Lake Avenue.

The bridge carries Lake Avenue over Horseneck Brook.

The construction contract for the project totals $228,922.50. The entire project is scheduled to be completed by November.

The project was designed by GM2 Associates of Glastonbury, and the construction will be performed by A. Vitti Excavators, of Stamford.
