Governor Announces Time for State of State Address

Gov. Andrew Cuomo will give his State of the State address Jan. 4 and said he will discuss how he plans to “rebuild” the state and create a “New New York.”

The address will be given at 1:30 p.m. at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in Albany.

"The State of the State Address is an opportunity to open the doors of government to New Yorkers and bring the people into the process of rebuilding our state," Cuomo said. "Holding the State of the State in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center will allow hundreds of New Yorkers from across this state to come to Albany to be a part of this day. I look forward to joining with members of the Legislature and the public on Jan. 4 as we begin the new legislative session and continue the work we began last year to transform our government and build a new New York."

Seating is available to attend the address. Registration for the event begins on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and ends Thursday at 5 p.m. Seating is limited and tickets are non-transferable. In the event that the number of requests exceeds available seating, attendees will be selected by lottery. Guests will be notified of their selection via email by Jan. 2. Weapons and controlled substances as well as bags, backpacks, luggage, parcels, briefcases and like articles will be strictly prohibited from the event.  Photography and videography devices will not be allowed on the premises. Guests with prohibited articles will be turned away and no storage or "check-in area" will be provided for such items.
