Tesone's family will be presented the award at the Summer Camp Opportunities Promote Education's (SCOPE) annual New York Dinner on April 16.
Michele Friedman, SCOPE executive director says, “J.R. was a wonderful and generous person who touched the lives of so many people. He truly understood the value of the summer camp experience for children." SCOPE provides camp and college scholarships to inner city and low income children.
Tesone's five decades at Breezemont Day Camp began as a camp counselor in 1966 and he became owner/director in 1986. He died in February 2014.
