Construction Prep Continues at Armonk Square

ARMONK, N.Y. – Construction preparations continued Tuesday at Armonk Square, the location of the pending retail site on Main St. that DeCicco Food Markets plans to anchor.

"We're cleaning the site and preparing for the infrastructure," a worker said Tuesday afternoon as a crane moved dirt around the site. Two other workers installed a fence to block views of the site from Main St.

The Article 78 petition against Armonk Square filed by Armonk developer Michael Fareri is pending.

The petition was filed against the Town of North Castle and the developers of Armonk Square.

Roland A. Baroni, the North Castle town counsel declined to comment on the case Monday.

Veneziano & Associates, the Armonk law firm that represents Armonk Square developers Alan Zaretsky and Dominic and John Dioguardi, filed a motion to dismiss the petition in late November. Mark Miller, a Venziano & Associates attorney said there's been no response from the judge yet.

Fareri seeks to block construction of Armonk Square and the supermarket. Kristen Wilson, an attorney at Harris Beech LLC that is representing Fareri, said her firm has opposed the Veneziano motion.

Many Armonk residents support the project because they seek a new supermarket to replace the A&P on Main St., which is scheduled to close.
