WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- After a day of rain and mixed precipitation, motorists in Westchester County should be aware of spots of patchy black ice on roadways, the National Weather Service said.
With temperatures only expected to reach into the 20s Tuesday and Wednesday, patches of black ice will remain on road surfaces into the afternoon and evening commute, especially on untreated surfaces.
Drivers are reminded to take extra care while driving under these conditions.
Overnight wind chills could reach minus zero degrees in some parts of the area. Wednesday's high temperature will be in the upper 20s.
