Ball picked up clothing that was collected for a veterans winter clothing drive that will be delivered to Hudson Valley veterans that are in need of warm clothing. Lourdes collected t-shirts, diabetic socks, underwear, warm coats, gloves and hats for residents at the Montrose Hudson Valley VA Hospital.

“Our Lady of Lourdes High School participated in the clothing drive for our Veterans because we are committed to providing whatever we can to the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our freedom. God Bless our Vets,” said Lourdes principal Father John Lagiovane.

Representatives said veterans at the Montrose and Castle Point Hudson Valley VA Hospitals are in need of shirts, diabetic socks, underwear, warm coats, gloves and hats. Ball recently mobilized his Faith Based Advisory Council and Veterans Advisory Councils to host a clothing drive for Hudson Valley veterans.

The Mahopac VFW Post 5491 Ladies Auxiliary delivered large bags of shirts, socks, underwear, sweaters, pajamas and more to the veterans at Castle Point VA Hospital recently. Ball continued the clothing drive and will now deliver clothing to the veterans at Montrose VA Hospital.

“I would like to thank everyone that has been involved in this clothing drive including Father John Lagiovane, all the students at Our Lady of Lourdes and especially Chase Williams, who spearheaded the drive at Lourdes High School. This clothing will go a long way to ensure that our local veterans are well dressed this winter,” said Ball. “It is sad to think, but many of our local Hudson Valley veterans are in need of warm clothing for the winter months ahead. Our veterans have given so much for us, and it breaks my heart to think that some of these heroes lack basic necessities. As a community, we have a duty to ensure they are provided for. No New Yorker, especially a veteran, should go without warm clothing this winter.”

Residents that would like to drop off clothing can visit Ball’s District Office during normal business hours at 1441 Route 22, Suite 205 in Brewster. For more information, residents can contact Ball’s office at (845) 279-3773 or gball@nysenate.gov.
