Jean-Pierre Filtcher, 24, of New Rochelle was arrested after fleeing campus following a dispute at a student event.

Charges are pending against Filtcher, who is expected to be arraigned in Harrison Town Court, according to a Purchase College spokeswoman.
Dayton Tucker, chief of police for the New York State University Police, said in a statement: "I want to thank all of our police officers as well as those from throughout the county who quickly responded to our community."
"I wish to especially thank the Westchester County Police for their investigative efforts and the team of NYS Police BCI Investigators from Troop K who worked tirelessly to assist us in bringing the investigation to a close with an arrest," Chief Tucker said.
Purchase College President Thomas J. Schwarz said in a statement:
"First, I would like to commend Chief Tucker and our police for their professionalism in quickly responding to the incident and calling in necessary support to assist with both security and investigation," Schwarz said.
"We followed the protocols in place to alert the community on a timely basis, including the activation of NY Alert. A special thanks to our students who cooperated with our request to remain in place while the search for the suspect unfolded. As a result of our efforts, no one was hurt and the campus remained safe and secure," Schwarz said.
Purchase College spokeswoman Betsy Aldredge said, "We can’t comment further at this point as the investigation is ongoing."
In an email sent to students and faculty, Schwarz added: "I remind everyone that the Counseling Center is available as additional support to our community. As always, feel free to reach out to me and my office as well."
