Three veteran camp directors, Gordon Josey, Tony Stein and Mark Newfield, recently purchased Breezemont. They have more than 75 years of camp experience combined, as counselors and owners, according to a press release.
They are creating a new summer experience for kids ages 3 to 14. In addition to the purchase of the property, the new owners are upgrading and improving facilities, beginning new programs and plan extensive renovations to be completed for summer 2014.
Plans include new programs with more choices of activities such as a zip line and a new aerial ropes course, representatives said. The plans also call for renovations of the basketball courts, new tennis courts, playgrounds and a visitors center for the summer season.
“The Breezemont day begins the moment the camp bus arrives," said Josey, who will be Breezemont’s director. "Bus counselors will be highly trained in leadership and child development skills and will plan bus activities including weekly theme days, bus dress up parties and the 'bag of tricks' to keep kids occupied on the ride to camp. Once kids arrive, they will seamlessly transition into a day filled with fun and excitement.”
