NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. – Town officials are urging parents to have their children trick or treat only on Main Street in Armonk. Because many streets are still without power and have downed trees and power lines, trick-or-treating in other parts of town could be dangerous.
Merchants will be giving out candy to ghouls and goblins who trick or treat between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday.
There's an extra bonus for parents who bring their children to Main Street. According to a town press release:
"This will allow residents to come into Town, recharge their electronic devices, take a hot shower at our Hergenhan Recreation Center, pick up a hot meal at one of our fine restaurants and enjoy a Halloween stroll on Main Street with your child."
For those who have bought candy to give out, but now expect no trick-or-treaters, town officials suggest: "Drop it off at the Town Hall lobby. We will set up a bin for collection and then we will distribute the candy to the stores."
