ARMONK, N.Y. - The North Castle Planning Board presented a revised Armonk Square site plan at a meeting Tuesday and declared itself the lead agency over the project.
The board set a public hearing to approve the new site plan for March 12.
Bob Green, chair of the Planning Board, said a garbage collection area will be moved away from developer Michael Fareri's house. A shared driveway next to Cocobolo, a Fareri property, will allow two trucks to use the driveway at the same time and the layout of the driveway will also create four additional parking spaces, Green said.
A row of trees between Armonk Square and Fareri's house, which is set back from Bedford Road, will be heightened to provide a better screen between the house and shopping area, Green said. He added that the 15 foot row of trees will be heightened to 16 feet.
The Planning Board voted to make itself the lead agency on the Armonk Square project, which means the Town Board won't have that role. As lead agency, the board set the date for the public hearing to approve the site plan.
Mark Green, an attorney at Veneziano & Associates in Armonk, which represents the Armonk Square developers, noted that the DeCicco Family Supermarkets, which is set to be the anchor tenant in Armonk Square, may open by the end of the year. The store will replace the A&P on Main Street, which will close next week.
