Armonk Moms and Daughters Complete Ceramics Class

Armonk, NY. - Four moms and their four and five year-old daughters prepared clay hand print plates at the final Mom and Me clay class at the Hergenham Recreation center in Armonk Thursday afternoon.

Sally Ng, the ceramic artist who taught the class, said Thursday's class was the last of eight classes held. "We did four projects during the class, the clay hand print plates today, mommy and baby animals including zebras and pumpkins for Halloween."

The class produces original ceramics works that are glazed and then fired in a kiln.

At today's class moms and their kids made hand prints on a piece of clay and painted the clay before it was glazed.

Heather Harris and her four and a half year old daughter Zoe attended the class for all eight weeks. "It's fun to work togeher and see her face when she sees the finished product," Heather Harris said. "We can show off what we made together and it's great being together and doing something creative."

Ng lives in Greenwich and has taught the class for ten years.
