ARMONK, N.Y. The final session of the Jewelry Making with Skulpey Clay class was held at the Hergenhan Recreation Center in Armonk Wednesday, with a group of young girls completing a class in which they made earrings, pendants and brooches out of oven baked clay.
The seven girls, who range in age from 6 to 8, said they enjoyed the class that was taught by Kelly Ann O'Sullivan, a ceramic artist who also teaches at the Clay Art Center in Port Chester and the Rye Art Center.
"I've seen their creativity flourish and confidence in themselves grow," she said. "They've gotten braver and moved up in decisions in their own art work, which is great," she said. "That's the goal if there is one, other than having fun."
O'Sullivan said she saw the girls' skill and attitude change during the eight session class.
