Armonk Child Injured in Auto Accident

ARMONK, N.Y. - A 6-year-old Armonk child is recuperating from injuries sustained in an auto accident in front of his home on Townsend Court on Jan. 5. He was hit by his mother in front of the house, police said.

"The child ran in front of the car as it was moving down the driveway," said North Castle police sergeant Regan Hufnagle. "The view was obstructed by a bush, fencing and the curvature of the driveway."

No charges were filed against the driver and a police investigation is ongoing, Hufnagle said.

The child sustained chest injuries at the scene of the accident and was transported to the Westchester County Medical Center by the Armonk Fire Department Ambulance Corps. He is stable now, Huffnagle said.

The police report did not reveal the names of the child or his mother.
