Accident, Construction Cause Gridlock On I-684

An accident near the Putnam County line and road construction farther south resulted in stop-and-go delays on I-684 Monday afternoon.

The accident, reported at 2 p.m., was southbound at Hardscrabble Road in North Salem.

Road construction is between Exit 2 (Route 120) and Route 3 (Exit 3) with the right lane closed.
