OSSINING, N.Y. -- Audrey Rodgers, an Ossining resident, isn't letting her advanced age slow her down.

The 93-year-old, who lives at the Atria on the Hudson in the village, has become a prolific author and recently published her new book, "A Tangle of Memoirs." The book is Rodgers' third since moving to the Atria.

Rodgers, who lives with her dog, Mikey, spent 38 years teaching at the Penn State English Department with a specialty in modern American poetry. Rodgers has written about poets like T.S. Eliot, Harl Crane and Emily Dickinson.

The memoirs discuss Rodgers' time at Penn State as well as her love of traveling that took her all over the world with her late husband, Allan, who she married in 1944. Rodgers climbed the Great Wall of China and visited the Sistine Chapel in Italy. Rodgers also discusses growing up in New York City, where she attended Walton High School and attending Hunter College, and living through World War II.

Rodgers said she enjoys spending her days writing and is often up late working on her latest book. She previously published "Tears and Laughter," another memoir and "Tragedy at Happy Valley" about the Penn State child sex abuse scandals.

Whenever Rodgers completes a book, she holds a reading for other residents at the Atria.
