Two Recent Sightings Of Missing Pleasantville Dog Reported

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- There have been two recent sightings, but a dog reported missing a week ago by the Marino family in Pleasantville remains lost.

Dante Marino, a 10-year-old Cane Corso/Italian Mastiff, was first reported lost on Dec. 28 in the Bear Ridge Road area of Pleasantville. There have been two sightings of the 120-pound dog since Dec. 31.

"We still have not found Dante,'' Natalie Marino said. " There were two sightings. So we have hope."

The first sighting was on Dec. 31 at about 12:15 p.m. at the corner of Lake Street and North Broadway near Pleasantville's border with Thornwood.

The second sighting was about 5 p.m. on Jan. 1 on Nannahagen Road near Ashland Avenue in Pleasantville.

The 10-year-old Cane Corso/Italian Mastiff has been missing since about 6 p.m. on Dec. 28. He was last seen near Old Farm Road and Bear Ridge Road in Pleasantville.

Arthur Marino told Daily Voice that the family got Dante when his wife, Natalie, was pregnant with their now 9-year-old daughter, Valentina.

"We are so upset, now the weather is getting colder," Natalie Marino said on Monday. "I'm so frantic. We appreciate your help."
