Armonk Pets Get Star Treatment at Sitting Service

KATONAH, N.Y. - Being an animal owner is only the beginning for Katonah's Scott and Debbie Goldman and their Dancing Paws Pet Care Services. Founded in 2000, their small staff gives pets the unique experience of care that Scott Goldman said cannot be replicated.

"Our business model is very simple," Goldman said. "We offer genuine love, attention, reliability and expertise at competitive prices without a whole lot of 'menu items' and 'add-ons.' After all, who wants to be nickel and dimed?"

Based in Katonah, Dancing Paws services pets and pet owners in Armonk, Chappaqua, Mt. Kisco, and other Westchester towns with its five-person staff that specializes in house sitting, socializing, basic training, and nutritional guidance.

Scott and Debbie Goldman started Dancing Paws in 2000 and kept it small at first.

"We made it about the love and comfort offered to our fuzzy friends and were fortunate to enjoy immediate success and an impeccable reputation," Scott Goldman said. "It was a wonderful part-time business and we still have a few of our original clients to this very day."

Goldman said he left a corporate career in publishing in 2007 to spend his time doing what he loved.

"Yes, being vice president of sales and marketing had its perks, but nothing compares to the feeling that I enjoy when meeting new friends and having the honor to share in the lives of their pets," Goldman said. "It was the best thing that ever happened to me and I am grateful to be the chief bottle washer, owner, operator, and more."

Dancing Paws is an advertiser in the Westchester issues of The Pet Gazette, published by Armonk's Jim Dempsey. Much of their business comes from pet owners throughout Armonk, Goldman said.
