Westchester Director Pens New Deal With Universal Pictures

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Westchester resident Malcolm D. Lee's new movie "Girls Trip" comes out nationwide Friday, July 21 -- and the writer-director-producer is on a roll.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Universal Pictures has signed a "first look" production deal with Lee, who lives in New Rochelle, starting with his next movie, "Night School" starring Kevin Hart.

Lee has directed five films for Universal and is working on his next two. He is perhaps best known for "The Best Man."

The R-rated "Girl Talk" stars Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith and Tiffany Haddish. It is already playing at New Roc Cinemas as well as other area cinemas including the Alamo in Yonkers, Showcase Cinemas in Ridge Hill and iPic Theater in Dobbs Ferry.
