WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- In the world of science and technology, Lucie le Blanc and Esmeralda Michaca are proving that you’re never too young to inspire creativity. Both students will be awarded the "Women In Tech Award" by the Westchester County Association, which celebrates the leadership, creativity and innovation of women in science and technology.

Le Blanc and Michaca will be honored alongside industry leaders from across Westchester. “Lucie and Esmeralda are amazing young women who have excelled both in and out of the classroom,” said Julia Emrick, managing director of operations and events at Westchester County Association. “It’s really exciting to see what they both have in store for the future.”

Le Blanc, a senior at Mamaroneck High School, received her school's Computer Science Award for co-creating a code club as well as participating in several coding competitions with her classmates.

Le Blanc is also an alumna of the Girls Who Code 2015 Summer Immersion Program. She was a regional runner-up for the National Center for Women and Information Technology’s Aspirations in Computing Award. Le Blanc, who plans to major in computer science in college, is also passionate about music, languages and books.

Michaca, a junior at Purchase College majoring in mathematics and computer science, is fluent in Spanish, English and Mandarin Chinese. Her goal is to have a better understanding of algorithms and data structures before graduation.

“Esmeralda is one of the brightest young women I have met and has done everything it takes to be at the top of her class,” said Emrick. “The poise that these young ladies have and what they have been able to do at such young ages is what makes this award so special.”

“Women in Tech Award” winners will be honored on Oct. 20 at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown. For more information visit Westchester County Association's website .
