Held annually on April 11, the day commemorates 'Louie Louie', one of the most influential songs on the 20th century. Louie Louie was written by Richard Berry in 1955, and rose to international fame with the 1963 cover by the Kingsmen. In honor of the iconic ballad, several parades and events are staged by fans in communities across the country.
