WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York City was ranked the 10th safest city in the world, according to a story posted on MarketWatch.com.
New York was the only city in the United States to make the top 10. The story said the city's homicide rate has fallen sharply from a record-high of 2,245 in 1990. In 2013, the city recorded just 335 homicides. New York ranks third for digital security, putting it in the top 10 on the digital security list.
Tokyo was the safest city, followed by Singapore and Osaka, Japan. Click here for the MarketWatch story.
