Kaito, a fourth grade student, and his first grade brother played Johann Sebastian Bach’s double Violin Concerto in front of an audience of approximately 50 fellow MAP students and faculty members.

The audience enjoyed the rendition so much that the brothers were interviewed for nearly an hour after the performance and were quizzed about their practice habits and favorite music.

The brothers were invited to perform by their strings teacher, Lubima Kalinkova-Shentov. The strings program is new to the district this year.

This is just the beginning of a long year for the pair. They will perform at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as winners of the second prize of the American Protégé International Music Talent Competition. Kaito will also perform at the Lincoln Center on June 1 after winning the Golden Strings of America International Competition.
