Central Jersey Man Working Under Tractor-Trailer Is Pinned When It Rolls Over Him: Police

A 60-year-old man was seriously injured when a tractor-trailer he was working on rolled over him, authorities said.

On Tuesday at approximately 1:25 p.m., Sayreville police were dispatched to 222 Jernee Mill Road in reference to an individual being struck by a tractor-trailer with injuries. 

Police found the victim entrapped under two tires on the left side of the forward rear axle of a 2016 Freightliner tractor, according to Captain Daniel Plumacker, a Sayreville Police Department spokesman.

A witness told police that they saw the victim working under the tractor when it rolled forward pinning him under the wheels, Plumacker said. 

Sayreville First Aid and Fire responded to the scene and were able to free the victim with the assistance of a heavy-duty wrecker, the captain said. 

The victim was then transported to Robert Wood Johnson by medical helicopter with serious injuries., he said.

The victim's name had not been released.
