North Castle Library Screens 'The Hairdresser' On Friday

ARMONK, N.Y. – The North Castle Library will screen the 2010 German comedy "The Hairdresser" on Friday.

The screening, part of the "Friday Night Cinema with Professor Valerie Franco" series, will take place in the library's periodical room at 7 p.m.

The film stars Gabriela Maria Schmeide as a Berlin woman who's dumped by her husband and attempts to open a hair salon.

The comedy deals with perceptions of size and style, particularly with women in today's society, and how much a person's looks influence their ability to find work and maintain it.

The screening will be in German with English subtitles.
