Composer Stephen Schwartz Performs At North Castle Library

NORTH CASTLE, N.Y. -- Renowned pianist and composer Stephen Schwartz took to the stage on July 26 at the North Castle Library offering renditions of songs that made him an award-winning artist.

Schwartz -- owner of several Grammy, Academy awards, as well as six Tony Awards -- performed as part of a summer benefit for the Hudson Stage Company.

Among Schwartz’ musical hits were “Godspell” (1971), “Pippin” (1972) and “Wicked” (2003). This year, the man who has composed lyrics for films such as “Pocahontas” (1995), “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” (1996), won the Tony Award’s 2015 Isabelle Stevenson Award for his commitment to the arts.
