Begin the evening with a traditional holiday dinner (latkes will be included) at 6 p.m.

Residents are asked to bring menorahs from home as the congregation will light the candles together to celebrate the festival of Hanukkah at the Shabbat service at 7 p.m. A special Oneg will follow with many holiday treats like chocolate gelt, jelly doughnuts and more.

The celebration will also include a display of creative menorahs made by the temple’s religious school students. Additionally, the temple will collect gently used winter coats for local families in need.

“Hanukkah celebrates not only a great historical miracle, but also the ability of Jewish ideals and values to endure,” said Rabbi David Greenberg.  “We are grateful for everyone in our congregation and community who help us keep the flame burning.”

Temple Shaaray Tefila is at 89 Baldwin Road. Bedford Corners. All are welcome.
