THE GYM is currently conducting a variety of classes from which the proceeds will be donated to the foundation. Their goal is to raise enough funds to grant the wish of 7-year old Malaq, who would like to “swim with the dolphins.” The average cost of a wish is $7,500 to $10,000.

“We are thrilled to once again be partnering with THE GYM of Armonk,” said Thomas J. Conklin, president and chief executive officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley.

The classes will be open to gym members and non-members alike, on a first come, first serve basis. The suggested donation amount is $25 for each class and registration is required in advance.

“It’s great to see that an organization dedicated to the health and well-being of its community is willing to extend the same sentiment to children in the Hudson Valley region with life-threatening conditions,” said Jamie Nicastri, general manager of THE GYM. “Last year, the support here for this was overwhelming and we are so pleased they are participating again in 2013.”

The following instructor-led classes are included in this year’s Make-A-Wish Foundation program:

  • Cardio Interval will be lead by Ellen on Jan. 25 at 7:30 a.m.
  • Spin class will be led by Karen on Jan. 26 at 8:15 a.m.
  • Cardio and strength mix will be led by Patty on Jan. 27 at 9:30 a.m.

All donations must be in the form of cash or checks.
