Fairway's Area Stores To Stay Open After Emerging From Bankruptcy

Two months after filing for bankruptcy protection, Fairway Supermarkets emerged with plans to keep most of its 15 stores in the tristate area open, including its locations in Pelham and Nanuet.

The lone Fairway store slated to close is Lake Grove location on Long Island, according to Crain's New York.

Fairview was successful in convincing lenders to acquire equity in exchange for cutting borrowings in half, Crain's said. 

The reorganized company's new board of directors includes the president of Rite Aid and a former Whole Foods senior executive, the report said.
