Business Council Of Westchester Urges Cuomo To Nix Hotel Tax Bill

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Business Council of Westchester is urging Gov. Andrew Cuomo to not sign the proposed hotel tax bill.

If passed, the bill would allow municipalities to impose a 3 percent occupancy tax to hotel bills. BCW told Cuomo in a letter that the tax levy would have severe repercussions on a county that has 5,500 hotel rooms and employs more than 3,000 people in the industry.
