MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. – Blackstones Steakhouse owner Nick Ahmetaj didn’t want Mount Kisco residents to have to trek to New York City or White Plains for a good steak. So he’s bringing the good steak to them.
Blackstones, which has been located in Norwalk, Conn., for the last seven years, opened a new location in Mount Kisco two weeks ago. The grand opening was held Thursday night.
Their second home can be found at 213 E. Main St. It will be the third restaurant to offer their menu in the space in the last two-and-a-half years. However, Ahmetaj is optimistic Blackstones will be there for the long haul.
“Mount Kisco needed a nice steakhouse,” said Ahmetaj. “Everyone who has come in so far has really enjoyed themselves. We already have had repeat customers. The people here have been great. Everyone is very outgoing.”
Ahmetaj’s business is known as a classic New York City style steakhouse that also specializes in seafood such as grilled baby octopus, sea scallops, calamari, mussels and clams.
And to wash it all down?
“We have a tremendous wine selection and a full bar,” said Ahmetaj.
Though Ahmetaj is proud of his restaurant’s menu, he can’t take all the credit. Blackstones Chef Winnie Togonon plays a big part in continuing the restaurant’s reputation its new location.
“We’re really trying to bring a New York City atmosphere here to Mount Kisco,” said Togonon. “Everything we have here is top of the line. This is the best steak money can buy.”
Blackstones is installing a full sushi and raw bar to add to its seafood selection. Ahmetaj was confident it would be serving up by summer.
